Is Anyone Listening To Me?

We’ll bless my heart! I am on a rant today!

When I call a business, I want to talk to a REAL PERSON!

I’m sure we’ve all been blessed by this modern technology. “Dial 1 to continue in English, Dial 2 if you want to check your online status, Dial 3 if you are” … whatever. After about twenty-nine ‘if you wants’, I was ready to tell someone what I really wanted to do. But alas, even as I yelled mild expletives at the phone, none of the choices were to speak to a person. The ‘smart machine’ informed me she ‘could not understand’ my statement.

I finally hung up and went to the web site. Talk about ageism! What if I were computer illiterate? I tell you what! In this day and age, I’d be plumb outta luck!

So I filled in my name, phone number, and email address. When I had to choose what I wanted to do, again the right choice was not listed. There wasn’t a box to write what I really wanted to do at the place either. I made the appointment anyway.

When I get to this government-run agency, if someone says my appointment is invalid because I checked the wrong box, all I can say is, “Bless your heart, sweetie!” I’ll give going postal a whole new meaning!

I’m not going to continue my rant about the inefficiency of government-run agencies. We all know it’s real, and we can’t to a dang thing about it.

I will applaud one of the best companies I have run across, though. United Health Care has REAL PEOPLE immediately when you call! They are always helpful and very personable. GREAT JOB, United Health Care Customer Service Line!!!!!

Anyhow. I would say blessings, but I doubt if anyone was blessed by my rant. Made me feel good, though!

Just to show you that God has a funny sense of humor with me, today’s verse of the day was Ephesians 4:2. Be completely humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.TLB
