Gettin’ Gorgeous and Other Disasters
I hope you have read enough of my blogs to find that I have my own way of doing things, and I have a REAL hard time following directions. If you’ve read my Serial Killer post or the Healthy Dessert or Hog Fodder blog, you’ve got a good idea about my philosophies and talents. If a recipe calls for 1 teaspoon of spices, I think it’s better with ¼ cup or more. Sometimes anyway. As you’ll recall, Gideon the Blue didn’t survive long with that protocol.
Do you ever wonder about beauty product commercials? One claims to make to make your skin appear younger for longer. Others are age defying goos with guarantees of revitalization. Let the buyer beware seems to be wise advice.
Recently, I have been blessed by suggestions from family members to try different facial cleansers and products they swear by. I ordered each and every one and have begun to use them simultaneously.
I’m thinking about making another youboob commercial for my beauty regime. I’m going to call it – well, I haven’t decided that yet.
When I got my throat slit this past January, I had to use a special cleanser – Hibiclens. I read somewhere that my rosacea may be caused by bacteria, so I figure a little of that to start my day isn’t a bad thing.
Amanda started using Perfect Pore Skin Food that her Korean friend told her about. That’s what I use next. After gently patting my face dry as my Missy would tell me is necessary to keep from stretching my tender facial skin, I rub in the Collagen 100 which is supposed to get rid of some of the wrinkles. After that, I rub in the CBD and Copaiba facial cream, followed by aloe gel and an anti-crepey skin product I bought from my dermatologist. Finally, I dab the Revive CBD oil on my skin tags and weird mole things and hope for their reduction or disappearance. With that much CBD, if nothing happens to the blemishes, maybe at least I’ll not care very much!
Anyway … I was telling Ronald about all my exciting new facial products that were guaranteed to make me look younger and my skin glowingly beautiful. He said maybe soon he could say, “Oh my! Who is this young woman sitting next to me? She must be no older than 65!”
I’m 67, but dang it! He could have had a better imagination and said 35!
So I’ve only been at it a few days. My skin will have a choice – either get more youthful, bright, smoother, more hydrated, more even toned, softer, more glowing – or start screaming for me to stop hoping for a miracle.
Maybe Proverbs 31:30 is a better beauty regime. God in a lady’s life can be a miraculous reality for a believer! “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
