BILLY JOEL AND POTTY PONDERINGS
We’ve been listening to the Billy Joel channel on Sirius as we travel. Oh, my! What a talented pianist and composer! As he explains his reasoning for writing each song, he goes into great detail. A specific music genre is carefully chosen, and then he decides exactly what he wants to say. He writes the songs with exact intentions to portray a certain idea.
Though I am nowhere near his skill level, I often rephrase and reorder words to get a better flow or more succinct sense of what I mean to say.
PREACHIN’ ALERT!
Now if a mere mortal is careful to express his thoughts, imagine how much more the God of the universe made sure His ideas were clearly and exactly stated by the Bible’s inspired authors?
My Amanda has a lovely print of the Love Chapter, 1 Corinthians 13, directly across from her guest potty. While doin’ some serious bi’ness, one has the opportunity to do some serious soul searching.
How many times have we read or heard the definition of love from the Bible? For most of my readers, quite a few. Here was my pondering that fateful day and every day since. Since God is the very essence of love, and His nature is the definition of love, and His character is ideal love, why would He place the attribute ‘patience’ as the first quality? Look it up in several translations. Why wouldn’t being kind be first? Because God wanted us to know that both HE and love means patience!?
It seems to me that all the other attributes assigned to love are also applicable to God. Which means to me that we, as believers, need these God-like qualities to show the world His love.
Think on it a while, and let me know what you think.
Blessings,

After I edited this three times this evening, I guess it shows I shouldn’t write my blogs at 5 in the morning!
