Grunge, Gunk, and Plain Disgusting!
Gross Out Alert
Okay. Here’s the challenge for everyone who has a washing machine. Take a wet cloth and wipe the lid. Then take another cloth to the bleach dispenser.
Next, you know the thing in the middle of the washer? If there is a hole there where you put softener, take a scrubber or bottlebrush to it. Try your best not to throw up!
After that, wipe the rim of the washing tub itself. Pull the tub so you get past the edge to where the water flows over – and probably where all the random socks disappear. Super gross!
Everyone knows to empty the dryer vent – I hope! That is a very prevalent cause of house fires. Snaking out the dryer vent from the outside will produce shocking gross out material!
There are so many things in our daily lives that would be disgusting if we allowed ourselves to wonder how to clean them. Sometimes it’s best to look the other way and take our chances. After all don’t they say there’s a 10 second rule? A few germs won’t kill you? We need to be exposed to germs to build our immunity?
Okay, so maybe that works with germs, but I’m kinda wonderin’ about other things. How many times do I make excuses? “One more cookie won’t hurt!” “It doesn’t matter if I lost my temper just this once!” “It was only one little naughty word!”
Does that end up being ten extra pounds and higher blood sugar? Did the anger make my blood pressure soar? Worse yet, did my anger flare out to cause pain or a hurtful memory someone will never forget? Did those naughty words ruin my reputation or wound another soul?
Sometimes, it’s the little things that matter. Little things sometimes add up to become big things.
Luke 16:10 says those who are faithful in the very little things will be faithful in the bigger ones. Whether large or small, I pray the Lord will help me keep the things in my life clean, pure, and godly. Amen?
