DIY, YOU TUBE, and FAILURE!
Bless my heart – once again.
Once again, I was foolish enough to watch a DIY YouTube video.
Once again, I bought me some new, but cheap, power tools to mimic what I was shown.
Once again, I have made a big ‘ol mess!
Once again, I am an ‘internet wanna be crafter’ FAILURE!
Sorry, once again, I have my panties in a knot, my blood pressure is pounding an “I should have known better” tattoo in my brain. And I have a rip roarin’ headache. ARGH!
I was trying to make frames to reframe some stitchery. What a mess! I need to stick to something I can actually do well – after I figure out what that is!
It certainly isn’t cooking either … just ask Ronald about supper the last two nights. I cooked because he had a bad cold. Which is probably a good thing since he had a plugged up nose and couldn’t really taste anything.
I made my own version of a Trim Healthy Mama recipe and my own unique version of another casserole. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t worth writing home about unless you are writing a blog through which maybe someone will feel affirmed that he is smarter than I am. Not hard to do. ARGH!
Last time I sewed, I ended up having to make one curtain twice since I put the wrong heading on it that didn’t match the others I had made, so that’s not in the running for accomplishments. Oh well.
I’ll let you know if I find something.
Here’s a listing of today’s errors.
- Mistake #1 Since I am completely covering the frame with stitchery and hanging it without a fancy frame, I figured I was smart enough to make something that would work. Wrong.
- Mistake #2 I misplaced the instructions for putting the batteries in the miter saw for the laser.
- Mistake #3 The guy on the video said to get a good saw blade. I figured that since the saw is brand new, it would be okay. Hmm, I must be doing something wrong, or the cut would have turned out smoother. (I got a new blade, but I’m afraid I’ll put it on wrong!)
- Mistake # 4 I should have taken the project out of my craft room to outside on the driveway. Failure + mess = aggravation.
I do have a Scripture verse for this incident in case you are wondering. Romans 12:3 says to not think more highly of myself than I ought. Think soberly according to the faith that God has given.
The Bible says, “Think soberly”… since I am a teetotaler, I am always sober. More days like this one and I may consider taking up drinking something harder than unsweet tea.
Yep. That about says it all.
Blessings
