GPS, Goats, and the Goof Up

The GPS is a wonderful thing! Most times. I don’t know how I navigated before its invention. When I find the blog I wrote that disappeared somewhere between my computer and the “CLOUD”, you’ll have a better idea. In the meantime, I’ll share my latest GPS story.

We headed from Georgia to West Texas for a wedding and visited various relatives along the way. We found a nice hotel in our destination city and settled in for the evening. The next day, we shopped a little, visited one aunt and uncle and cousin’s family, and ate lunch at my happy place – Whataburger. So far so good.

We got ready for the wedding and left early as I hoped to get to visit a few minutes with relatives ahead of time. I dutifully punched in the address of the wedding venue into my GPS app. This is when the problem began.

This is a true Word of Wisdom – Double check the address the GPS registers. Mine sneakily slipped one word into the address that made the difference between ending up at a ranch or a venue.

LINE.

The address I put in was on County Road.

The address the GPS listed added one word. We ended up on County LINE Road. Where we met the goats. And had a good laugh. Before I panicked.

After a frantic search for the name of the events center I couldn’t remember the name of, I found the GPS mistake and connected the GPS to the proper place.

That’s quite a difference, don’t you think?!!!

Which brings me to my

PREACHING ALERT

It easy to be heading down the straight and narrow when something shines enticingly on a tantalizing path. One step, one false philosophy, and we’ve lost our way.

Job said he had closely followed God’s way without turning aside. (chapter 23) Proverbs 3:6 admonishes us to submit to God in all our ways, and He will make our paths straight.

That sounds like an easier and calmer life than meandering around all over creation, trying to “find myself.” I think I like God’s Word being my ultimate GPS!

Blessings
